As we promised back in June in our Sneak Peak at Release 8 blog, we have more details on this exciting new development in the Avaya IP Office phone system.
The software will become available on December 12, 2011 and boasts more features and easier installation. Avaya has announced that this new release “will enhance user productivity, simplifying deployment, configuration and management for customers with less than 20 employees (Basic Edition, Basic Edition – PARTNER® Mode & Basic Edition – Norstar™ Mode) and introduces a robust mobility solution that brings desktop functionality to mobile devices.”
Some of the featured improvements are:
*Seamless integration between desktop and mobile devices
*Users with a C110 UC Module will not need an external server or server licenses
*Integration with Salesforce.com
*Web management tool for Basic Edition, Basic Edition – PARTNER® & Basic Edition – Norstar™
*Microsoft Outlook Plug-In and Microsoft Exchange Calendar integration
*Real time monitoring and Reporting
*The Essential Editions license will provide mobile twinning and call control for all users
On the down side, Release 8.0 will no longer support SIP trunking to Avaya Aura® Session Manager,
Customers who want to connect their branches to Avaya Aura® Session Manager will be able to connect them with the Avaya B5800 Branch Gateway,
